Oh hey, remember me?!
I can’t believe it’s been two weeks since I’ve posted, but it has been a little crazy getting back into the swing of the semester. Hopefully, I can squeeze in some time to post every few days again.

A few weeks ago, I was sent a variety of whey protein isolate flavors to try from About Time. It was only recently that I heard about this company from some friends, and I immediately stalked their website to see what the hype was all about. With very few clean protein powders out on the market, I was a little too excited to see that one of their goals is to provide supplements without artificial ingredients and artificial sweeteners. They also pride themselves on their high quality 100% whey protein isolate, since so many proteins out there are less pure these days.
I love seeing such a short list of pronounceable ingredients. :) Just incase you are wondering, the trace amount of soy lecithin used is non-GMO.
Nutritional facts and amino acid breakdown. This one is specifically for vanilla, but I believe they are all very similar.
Even though I was happy to see that they provide clean protein, the ultimate test for me was how their flavors tasted compared to my current protein. I’ve been using the same brand of protein for a long time because it’s clean and the chocolate flavor tastes like a milkshake. I have to admit I was a little nervous to try a new brand, but I was excited to receive so many different flavors – peaches & cream, banana, vanilla, chocolate, and peanut butter. I was also sent some of their whey protein granola clusters to try.
Peaches & cream – I’ve never been a fan of fruity flavored proteins, since I always associate protein with chocolate or vanilla. I wasn’t expecting much from this one, but I was totally wrong! I actually really enjoyed the peaches & cream; I think mostly because it didn’t have an artificial flavor like many fruity proteins do.
Banana – I actually can’t vouch for how the banana tastes in a shake because I used it to make a protein pancake. By the flavor of my pancake, I can tell you it tastes good though!
Vanilla – I usually want to gag if I even smell vanilla protein shakes, but I had absolutely no problem drinking this one. The vanilla flavor actually tasted GOOD. I think this may be one of the sweetest proteins out of all the flavors I tried. I can honestly say this is the best vanilla protein I’ve ever had.
Chocolate – This was the main test, comparing About Time’s chocolate to my current chocolate protein. I have to say it’s 90% as good as my current one, meaning it’s pretty darn good. I think the only difference is that About Time’s protein was a little bit less sweet than what I normally drink, but not in a bad way. Next time, I’ll just mix it with less almond milk.
Peanut butter – As a peanut butter lover, I was the most excited to try this flavor. Once again, I loved the taste. The only complaint I have about this one is that there were still chunks in it, even after I thoroughly shook it in my shaker. This is the only flavor of their protein that had this problem though.
Whey protein granola clusters – These were absolutely amazing! I mixed them in with greek yogurt and some frozen blueberries, and I couldn’t stop thinking how good they were with every bite. The granola clusters are super filling by themselves because they’re made with whey protein, flax seeds, and chia seeds.
Overall, I was extremely happy with their products and will definitely purchase more of their protein – I think my next purchases are going to be chocolate peanut butter and perhaps birthday cake?! Sounds too good to be true. ;)
